“But whoever listens to me will dwell safely, And will be secure, without fear of evil.”” Proverbs 1:33 NKJV
Are you secure? Where does your security come from? The answers to these questions will determine your next move. Being secure in Christ means trusting in His name, His power, His righteousness, and His will. We cannot operate in a false sense of security in ourselves, other people, or material possessions, and expect to be truly successful in the moves that we make in life. Temporary earthly accolades are not the same as lasting foundational success. The difference is in the wisdom of being fully secure in the Rock who is Jesus Christ.
Here are several things that we can do in order to ensure that the next move we make is from a place of security in Christ:
1. Acknowledge God
“In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.” Proverbs 3:6 NKJV
“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.” Psalms 91:1 NKJV
2. Listen to and Obey God
“But He said, “More than that, blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it!”” Luke 11:28 NKJV
“Those who listen to instruction will prosper; those who trust the Lord will be joyful.” Proverbs 16:20 NLT
“But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves.” James 1:22 NLT
3. Believe God
Wisdom isn’t making moves because we’ve checked off the box of prayer in our Christian life. However, the prayer of faith is praying the will of God and believing God when the circumstances we see don’t equal the promises of God. Will we believe God or the circumstance? Your next move will be a reflection of what you believe.
“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.” James 1:5-8 NKJV
The unstable man or woman is not secure. They have not listened to God and dwelt safely in His presence. Knowing God’s Word means knowing His will and therefore knowing How to pray and move. Believing Him takes us from fear to faith to triumph, and into the middle of what is only possible in Him, for the one who believes.
“Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”” Mark 9:23 NKJV
Go Boldly,
