Shake the snake

“Now when they had escaped, they then found out that the island was called Malta. And the natives showed us unusual kindness; for they kindled a fire and made us all welcome, because of the rain that was falling and because of the cold. (1) But when Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks and laid them on the fire, a viper came out because of the heat, and fastened on his hand. (2) So when the natives saw the creature hanging from his hand, they said to one another, “No doubt this man is a murderer, whom, though he has escaped the sea, yet justice does not allow to live.” (1) But he shook off the creature into the fire and suffered no harm. (2) However, they were expecting that he would swell up or suddenly fall down dead. (3) But after they had looked for a long time and saw no harm come to him, they changed their minds and said that he was a god.” Acts 28:1-6 NKJV

3 Power Points

1. The snake may bite…but you won’t budge!

“And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”” Mark 16:17-18 NKJV

2. Man’s words about it fail. God’s Word about it prevails.

“Bless the Lord, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy name! Bless the Lord, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits: Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases, Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies, Who satisfies your mouth with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.” Psalms 103:1-5 NKJV

3. When we believe we make believers.

“And these signs will follow those who believe…” Mark 16:17 NKJV

“If I do not do the works of My Father, do not believe Me; but if I do, though you do not believe Me, believe the works, that you may know and believe that the Father is in Me, and I in Him.”” John 10:37-38 NKJV

God hasn’t called us to doubt and anxiety. He’s called us to belief and rest. He’s called us to act in the authority of His name, believing Him and resting in Him, knowing that His Word does not return void. Wherever the snake has attacked you in your life, believer, you have the authority in Jesus name to shake it. Shake the snake back into the fire and continue to move forward in Christ Jesus. You are armed and not harmed!

Go Boldly,
