Juicy Fruit: Love

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.”

Galatians 5:22-23 KJV

If the Holy Spirit is in you, then the fruit of the Spirit is in you.  It is not something that you are needing to go pick off of a tree, or pray that God will give to you.  It is already in you.  It is something that grows up out of the good soil.  Being led by the Spirit means submitting to God’s will, that you would produce tasty, juicy fruit that is the evidence of the seed of God’s Word.

LOVE

1. God is Love.

“And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him.”

I John 4:16 NKJV

2. A Born again Christian is filled with love.

“Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.”

Romans 5:5 NKJV

3. The fruit of love gives and sums up.

““Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?” Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.””

Matthew 22:36-40 NKJV

Fruit is faith in action.
